Visits are 55-minutes. You will work solely with the treating therapist, who will take a history to learn about you and the nature of your injury/condition. Following the history, the therapist will do a hands-on evaluation to find the tissue at fault and any contributing factors.
At Life in Balance, our treatment emphasis is on manual therapy, skilled exercise, and education. The ultimate goal is for you to return to normal daily activities, work, and participation in sports or recreational activities.
Our approach focuses first on decreasing pain, swelling, and muscle guarding to improve mobility. As you improve, your exercise program will be progressed to fit your need for coordination, motor patterning, balance, endurance, speed, and strength in your functional task. We can assist you with the transition from exercise for rehabilitation to exercise for health maintenance, weight loss, cardiovascular improvement, return to work and sport.
Treatment may involve different types of hands-on work (massage, soft tissue work, joint mobilization, myofascial release), dry needling, red light therapy, and/or specific exercise and movement retraining. Your therapist will answer questions related to what activities you should or shouldn't be doing during your rehabilitation. You'll also be given home exercises and strategies to assist and hasten your recovery.
